Rabbit in the Moon's David Christophere
Rabbit In The Moon’s David Christophere Electronic Music Career started back in a humid warehouse in st pete Fl Dec '91 where he and his future Rabbit in the Moon collaborator Monk threw the first underground Rave party in Florida. The rest as they say is history. After several singles released on their Hallucination Recordings label under the name Anarch-E, his first major success as a producer came in 1993 with the release of the Rabbit in the Moon's "Phases of an Out of Body Experience" single on Hardkiss Records. As a remixer, he has reworked songs by artists such as Depeche Mode, Garbage, BT, Tori Amos , Sarah McLachlan , Orbital, Stone Roses, Smashing Pumpkins, Goldie, Delerium, and Paul Oakanfold. As a live performer, his music took Rabbit in the Moon on a tour around the globe. As a DJ he's played the biggest clubs and events in the US and parts of Asia and Europe. To say he's a pioneer is an understatement. To say he's one of the Godfather's of the US Rave scene, he would say nah.. That makes him sound retired… and his set, is far from over. One of his first DJ influences in the scene was AAHZ’s Kimball Collins. He says “Kimball knew how to take people to the moon and back in one evening…” Kimball’s influence contributed to the sound and production style of Rabbit in the Moon, and for this special AAHZ performance to be happening is like a home coming full circle moment as he celebrates over more than 20 years in the scene. Come witness his classic Rabbit in the Moon music infused live set at the Historic Beacham Theatre in Orlando
Original Beacham Theatre/"AAHZ" resident and Central Florida's undisputed "Godfather" of the alternative and house music scenes. At the Beacham, his unique talent was to transition the 'early night" into the "late night" underground ground sounds with his track selection and flawless mixing. His ability to build excitement drew countless trainspotters and revellers. Prior to ‘AAHZ’ Dave's creative work includes fore fronting the turntables and video screens with Kimball at ‘SPIT’ (80's alternative club) to being head Music Programmer for Walt Disney World's Pleasure Island. Dave was resident DJ at Pleasure Island's cutting edge video club, ‘The Cage’ as well as their famous rotating dance-floor palace, ‘Mannequins’. Since the late 90s, Dave has been using his musical knowledge by working at Promo Only developing and programming their worldwide CD and DVD series. He has travelled extensively and has been paired on bills with Sasha, Digweed, Paul Van Dyk and Josh Wink. Dave is a featured guest at many clubs and takes in all the concerts as possible to quench his never ending thirst of music. Truly an Orlando legend not to be missed.
Kimball is a passionate artist committed to spreading positive vibes. He generates warm feelings and creates soulful connections through blissful musical excursions into sound. His influence continues to pioneer the evolution of modern electronic dance music. Well known for always pushing the edge, he is keeping his loyal listeners inspired, lifted and motivated.
After breaking barriers in the punk and alternative music scene, Kimball began bridging his discoveries of the "new sounds of the underground" into his sets. Orlando's Beacham Theatre welcomed Kimball to their majestic, theme-changing, weekend club in late 80s. He was given free reign to experiment with unheard of styles helping to launch several movements in the history of house music. White labels of acid house, rave, piano house, electro, funky hip hop, breakbeat, bass groove, ethereal ambient to deep techno excursions helping form the now famous "Orlando Sound". The legendary ‘AAHZ’ themed run also allowed him to play marathon late night sets well into the next morning keeping the packed dance-floor still cheering for "one more song". Having a music background, Kimball has a unique natural ability of creating breathtaking and magical moments rhythmically scratching, phasing and mixing tracks together. Without imitation, the "progressive house" era was mirroring what was happening in the Euro club scenes. This led to Kimball inviting the likes of Sasha, John Digweed, Joe T. Vannelli, performer Cosmic Baby, vocalist Sam Mollison, singer Tony DiBart, the band Taste Xperience for their inaugural US appearances to share the AAHZ stage generating a frenzy of feels and mythical events. Because of these loyal followers (the AAHZ Army) and the positive impact it has made, Kimball produces annual throwback themed events featuring these 80s/90s classics keeping the vibe and legacy alive.
Kimball has held several global residencies and still plays big room/underground gigs amassing audiences on dance-floors, at festivals like Further Future for Robot Heart and with his online followers coveting his specialised mixes and tracks. His discography continues to grow with current productions (along with studio-mate Rudiment) including work for Talavera Records, Magician on Duty, Making You Dance and Where the Heart Is. Stay tuned for more tours, tracks and positive vibes with Kimball's signature style coming your way soon.
